Hristo Dushev

Hristo lives in London, England and plays regularly with Hillsong London, Shannon Saunders and El Libero. Hristo has played and toured in Europe, India, Africa.

Hristo was only five years old when he first picked up a pair of sticks, and by the age of nine he
had become the regular drummer at his local church. In 2006, Hristo began his percussion
studies at the Purcell School of Music and later went on to complete a BMus Honours degree at
the Royal College of Music in London. Currently, Hristo leads the drum team at Hillsong London
and is also a regular tour member and a musical director.

Hristo started performing while he was in his early teens, and has since worked with the likes of
Labrinth, Andy Jordan, Brooke Fraser, Hillsong Live, Israel Houghton, Sir John Dankworth, Kari
Jobe, Joel Houston, Shannon Saunders, MckNasty, Southbank Sinfonia and J Marie Cooper.
As well as appearing on numerous radio and TV stations including BBC2, BBC4, UCB, BBC Radio 1,
BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 5, Hristo has performed at some of UK’s prime music venues such as
the O2 Arena, Wembley Arena, Royal Albert Hall, Earls Court, Royal Festival Hall, Queen
Elizabeth Hall, Westminster Abbey and Wigmore Hall to name but a few. Hristo has also travelled
Europe extensively for various concerts and festivals including Eurosonic Festival, Motel
Mozaique, HMV Next Big Thing, Frenzy Festival, London Jazz Festival, Ez Az A Nap Budapest
Sportarena, Howl Festival, Skjærgårds Festival, Opwekking Holland, Big Church Day Out and
many others.

Aside from performing, Hristo is also a qualified tutor as well as a group workshop facilitator. His
classes specialise in various percussion disciplines, from drum kit and tuned percussion through
to African Drumming and Brazilian Samba.

Hristo’s engagements for 2015 include a number of European dates with Shannon
Saunders and Hillsong London, as well as performances at the O2 Arena and SEE Wembley Arena.
