Julio Gonzalez

Julio is a Percussionist who hails from Chicago, IL and has had the honor to collaborate with artists at both the local and national level.  Julio has shared the stage with GRAMMY® winners Aaron Lindsey and Mary Mary as well as the winners of BET’s Sunday Best for Seasons 2 – Y’anna Crawley & Season 6 – Joshua Rogers, and GRAMMY® & Stellar Nominated artist Todd Dulaney.

On Sunday’s, you can find Julio playing percussion and his Heartbeat Cymbals with the worship team at Living Word Christian Center http://www.livingwd.org/ A multi-cultural full gospel church in suburban Chicago with a membership of over 20,000 and growing.

His credits include recording on several studio albums and live recordings, being featured in various music videos and a live stage musical. Julio prides himself on working hard to be the best musician he can be and while he is making a name for himself in the CCM/Gospel arena he enjoys playing Latin Jazz, Pop, R&B, Rock and Soul music. He plays with various worship ministries in the Chicago area most notably Atmosphere of Heaven (AOH) http://www.atmosphereofheaven.com/ as well as for other artists/groups when called upon.

Julio is also the owner/moderator of the Hand Percussion Alliance group on Facebook open to all those who love Percussion. He is also a Voting Member of The Recording Academy (GRAMMY®) and an avid Chicago sports fan. Julio has attended the Contemporary Drums & Percussion Camp at the University of Central Florida hosted by clinicians Jose Rosa and Hector Neciosup (nephew of Alex Acuna) and clinics/master classes with renowned percussionists Luis Conte and Michael Spiro and is a member of the El Ritmo School of Latin Percussion.
