Jazz Crash Cymbals
Introduced in 2016 with only a 22″ ride, The Jazz series has a lengthy history leading up to its creation.
Starting in early 2005, Heartbeat commenced a special project with a cymbal company to recreate a specific cymbal from the 1960s. After months of trial and error, we finalized the design and had a limited number produced for us. But, as often times happens, circumstances and events brought an end to Heartbeat’s arrangement with that manufacturer.
Jump forward to 2010 and the start of Heartbeat cymbal production. Heartbeat’s Noel never forgot that cymbal collaboration, but it remained on the shelf. That changed in 2014, when the project was revived, but this time with the Heartbeat cymbalsmiths.
After two years of working with prototypes adjusting the hammering, lathing, bell size, profile and weight, Heartbeat introduced the Heartbeat Jazz Ride cymbal. Recreating some of the amazing jazz sounds that were established by drummers such as Tony Williams, Jack DeJohnette, Lenny White and others, Heartbeat takes that famous sound and gives it a “sprinkle” of Heartbeat’s modern influence.
The Heartbeat Jazz rides feature unique dark red logos and model designations. Hand crafted and hand hammered in the same way that traditional Turkish cymbals were in the 1960’s and early 70’s, this Jazz ride proves that sometimes the old way of doing things might just still have some benefits over the current mass produced products that flood the markets. Due to the great response to the 22″, Heartbeat released 24″ and 26″ Jazz rides as well.
The response to this series led to the introduction of the Jazz Crash and Hi-hat cymbals as well. Jazz Crashes are initially available in 16″, 17″, 18″, 19″, 20″, 21″ and 22″ diameters, and hats in 14″, 15″, 16″ and 17″ diameters.
The Jazz Cymbals from Heartbeat and all other Heartbeat cymbals carry a two year limited warranty.

Custom Ride Cymbals
Custom Ride cymbals and the entire Custom Series combine the production methods of original Turkish hand made cymbals with a new look and sound. Heartbeat Custom cymbals are unique cymbals just as Heartbeat is a unique company. These cymbals feature a special finish on the unlathed surface and a brilliant lathed finish around the edges. The Custom series produce less overtones, a very controlled sound, and yet good projection but with a quick decay.
The Custom series features rides, crashes, hats and splashes. It is a favorite with sound techs. Depending on the room dynamics, Custom series cymbals work so well in the church environment that you might consider removing the drum shield. Rides are available in light weight for crash/riding and medium weights for mainly riding in 20″, 22″ and 24″ diameters.
While some cymbals from other companies may look like Heartbeat cymbals, we work to ensure specific shaping, hammering, finishing, lathing and weight of each cymbal meets Heartbeat specifications. All Heartbeat cymbals carry a two year limited warranty.

Heartbeat Custom Dry cymbals are a special series that features the unique finish of the Custom Series (an unlathed surface with a brilliant lathed finish around the edges). The difference is the lathing is reduced considerably from the Custom series to produce an extremely dry, quiet and very short resonance.
The Custom Dry series features limited sizes with 22″ and 24″ rides, 18″ and 20″ crashes, 15″ and 16″ hi-hats. They are extremely popular for venues that have lively sound issues, like gymnasiums, or where there is a lot of brick or concrete.

In a day like today when most cymbals made are pumped out by machines, the Classic series exemplifies the craftsmanship of yesterday, but with a sound for today! The concept of these fully lathed cymbals has been proven over and over again through the years. From the earliest of jazz drummers and bebop pioneers to the latest musical trends, the name Classic says it all!
Hi-hat sizes range from 12″ to 17″ in diameter. For a softer sound, try the Classic light hats (14″ to 17″). Looking for a stronger “chick”? Try the Classic medium hats (12″ to 15″). Need a fast and crisp “chick”? The 14″ Flat bottom with holes might be the answer! Perhaps you can’t make up your mind whether you like the Classic or the Studio series better. We might just have the answer for you: the 17″ Classic/Studio Hybrid combo!
