Empty House Studio

empty house studio opened in Omaha, Nebraska in 1999 and operated primarily as a drum set recording facility and singer/songwriter project studio until 2011. In March 2013.  The studio relocated to the Nob Hill district of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

empty house studio is a full-service commercial studio with drum set recording specialty. Private drum set instruction is also offered.

About Matthew Tobias:

Matthew has 35 years of drumming experience.  His father, a former professional drummer, began giving Matthew lessons at age four.

Matthew played on his first session when he was 16, and since studying Percussion Performance in college, has traveled nationally/internationally with numerous artists and played on hundreds of projects.

In Omaha, NE, Matthew was the owner of empty house studio, taught in the Music Departments of two colleges and gave over 100 drum students private drum lessons during the past 16 years.

Matthew has a passion for songs and the role the drums play in helping them achieve their fullest intended impact. With 28 years experience playing on church worship teams, Matthew travels to churches to conduct workshops with their music teams and drummers.
